What do you want in a Sunday Service?
This is a major question that you need to ask yourself when you are looking for your Church Home. Since the Sunday Service is a big way that you receive information from God about how He wants you – YOU, personally and specifically – to live, it is important for you to get clear on what you want that experience to be, and what God wants that experience to be for you.
Taylor Memorial United Methodist Church is proactive in a lot of ways. We are known for our outreach initiatives. But what we are not as known for, is the proactive stance we take on love each and every Sunday morning.
Taylor Is Proactive About Love
That’s right. We are proactive about love. That’s what God wants us to be proactive about! When you come to a Sunday Service here at Taylor, you experience love. You experience the love of God pouring out of every person in the congregation. You will witness your brothers and sisters in Christ caring for one another in large ways and small ways. How? You will witness and be a part of this love in many ways during your two-hour experience in our Sanctuary.
One thing we do is allow a few minutes for the congregation to greet each other. This is not a formality. Be prepared to feel the warmth and the love pouring out as everyone mingles for hearty handshakes, genuine smiles, well-wishing and plenty of hugs. They say that a human being needs eight hugs a day to experience wellbeing. Well…you can start filling your quota right here during Sunday Service as our congregation welcomes you – literally – with open arms. It just simply feels good.
You’ll also experience the love as members get up and give their testimonials and speak of their hardships. You will witness the support and love pouring from their spiritual family as they patiently and lovingly encourage each other. You will witness the love as people make arrangements to include those members who can’t make it to the service, and celebrate those who haven’t been able to make it but have made it that day. Yes! Taylor brothers and sisters in Christ celebrate each other. We laugh and we cry – not for each other, but with each other. You will never feel alone or lonely at Taylor Church.
Pastor Anthony: A Strong Man of Service
And then there’s our pastor, a truly wonderful human being. Pastor Anthony Jenkins, Sr. is a great leader and visionary, which every pastor of a successful church has to be. He is a warm, welcoming human being who gives the credit to God. A leader strong enough to allow himself to be vulnerable in front of his congregation, he allows his congregation to be vulnerable in front of him. He partners with God to create a safe space for you to come and worship and grow. Not only that, but you will have a great time doing it. Pastor Anthony also has a great sense of humor, which you will surely experience once you take the time to get to know him. We’re certain that you’ll enjoy being in his company. But don’t take our word for it. Come and see for yourself!
Service takes place in our beautiful main sanctuary every Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
